The Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) launched the Biodiversity in Plantation Landscapes manual at the International Palm Oil Sustainability Conference (IPOSC) 2012. The project is part of the Biodiversity for Busy Managers (B4BM) initiative by MPOC and Wild Asia, under the Malaysian Palm Oil Wildlife Conservation Fund (MPOWCF) to develop useful and practical resources for plantation managers. We hope that the publication of this manual can both inspire and guide managers on the key biodiversity issues that apply to oil palm cultivation and land management.

The Manual, which will be the Malaysian palm oil industrys first ever dedicated reference on biodiversity conservation, will aim to make environmental/biodiversity issues easily understandable to the plantation management and offers solutions, tools and examples to enable plantation managers to protect and enhance the biodiversity in their plantations. The major areas covered include:
