Malaysia, the second-largest palm oil producer, will make it compulsory for vehicles to use biofuel blended from the commodity starting from June 2011, the Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry said today.
The government will make the use of the so-called B5 blend mandatory in stages, starting in the central region, which covers Selangor state, the capital Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Southern Perak, West Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and North Johor, according to an e-mailed statement. – Bloomberg
