Malaysia Jan 1-10 palm exports fall: ITS

Malaysia’s palm oil exports fell 14.6 per cent in the first 10 days of January, independent market surveyor Intertek Testing Services said.

A total of 351,818 metric tons of the commodity were tracked on January 1 to 10, versus 412,166 tons in the same period in December, Intertek said in an e-mail statement in Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s December palm oil stocks rose 15.7 per cent to 2,238,717 tonnes from a revised 1,934,613 tonnes in November, industry regulator Malaysian Palm Oil Board said today.

December’s increase resoundingly beat market estimates that palm oil inventories in the world’s second largest producer of the vegetable stayed flat at 1.93 million tonnes.– Bloomberg Source: Business Times
