KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is set to officially launch its national palm oil standard – the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) by next year, says Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Douglas Unggah Embas.

The MSPO branding is expected to enable local palm oil to gain better access in major export markets and attain better premium in terms of pricing.

He was speaking to reporters after the ministry’s consultation meeting with the local commodity players here.
