The Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) is pleased to introduce the Malaysian Palm Oil Forum (MPOF), a programme developed to provide a platform for interaction between members of the Malaysian palm oil industry and key buyers, as well as end users. By attending the Forum, it is hoped that participants will arrive at opportunities for exploring avenues of trade enhancement.

In a series of paper presentations and panel discussions, expert speakers will share the latest developments in areas of health, nutrition, and functional attributes of Malaysian palm oil, as well as sustainability efforts that are being undertaken.

MPOF will also provide a platform for Malaysian palm oil suppliers to showcase their products and services to potential buyers as part of their efforts in improving their exports and footprint in this growing region.

Kenya has been selected as the first destination for the MPOF in 2023 due to the country’s strategic geographical location and growing middle class, which have positioned it as an economic, financial, and transport hub for the East and Central African markets. Most importantly, Kenya is the largest importer of Malaysian palm oil and other palm products in Sub-Saharan Africa, with the total exports of palm oil to Kenya in 2022 recorded at 763,059 MT, for a total value of RM4.05 billion.

Through the Forum, which will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, MPOC aims to strategically target stakeholders of the oils and fats industry in the East African region, including countries such as Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Mozambique. It is the objective of this Forum to provide a unique opportunity for buyers in these markets to interact directly with Malaysian palm oil suppliers, and subsequently for these interactions to foster relationships, leading to increased business opportunities for all stakeholders involved.
