KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 — The Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC) has launched the “Sawit Anugerah Tuhan” (Oil Palm the Gift of God) campaign with the aim of appreciating the great contribution of the palm oil industry to the country, besides raising awareness about its benefits and nutritional values to the community.
Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali said the international and national-level campaign, which is organised by the ministry through the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC), would focus on the role played by the palm oil industry in the country’s socioeconomic development.
“Besides, the contribution of the palm oil sector to the food and non-food industries, including health products and environmental conservation will also be emphasised,” he told a press conference after launching the campaign in Parliament today.
Mohd Khairuddin said various promotional activities to encourage the involvement of all walks of life would be carried out throughout the country through various platforms, with the integrated programmes implemented physically and virtually.
He said the campaign would prioritise the use of new media and social applications by applying the elements of education, awareness, visual appeal and values in conveying the message to the community.
“Oil palm is a very special gift from God and endowed with various advantages. These will be depicted through the introduction of the ‘Sawit Anugerah Tuhan’ campaign official logo based on the concept of greatness and sustainability of oil palm through a combination of four beautiful colour combinations,” he said.
At the pre-launch campaign today, the ministry distributed 550 face masks adorned with the official campaign logo to members of Parliament, dignitaries and the media to signify the country’s effort in countering the COVID-19 pandemic.
