Palm International Nutra-Cosmeceutical Conference (PINC 2017) was first organized in 2009 to recognise and acknowledge the positive roles of palm bioactives in many food, nutraceutical and cosmetic products which are currently available in the market place. Today there is a growing body of evidence showing nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals play an important role in maintaining health and contributing to a healthy lifestyle. An increased prevalence of non-communicable and diet related diseases such as coronary heart disease (CHD) and diabetes has attracted significant interest in the health benefits of natural bioactives. Palm bioactives that include tocotrienols, carotenoids and phenolics have emerged among the preferred healthful ingredients demonstrating potential bioefficacies and health benefits. These will be the main focus of the expert deliberations at PINC 2017.
