These are major strides and achievements attributable to our industry and, on many instances, to certain individuals, whose leadership contributions, in the form of corporate governance, innovations, policy change etc. that have impacted the palm oil industry in a major way and often resulted in measurable benefits for the industry.

MPOC therefore wishes to honour such outstanding individuals and recognise them for their leadership efforts and qualities. We have created the Palm Oil Industry Leadership Award (PILA) for such industry leaders. The award is presented every year at the Palm Oil Industry Leadership Award Dinner.

Widely acclaimed for his efforts in various development and educational endeavours, Mr Mechai Viravaidya, Chairman of Mechai Viravaidya Foundation, will be talking about the need for improved education and poverty eradication in ASEAN.

Palm oil industry captains, Y Bhg Tan Sri Lee Oi Hian and Y Bhg Dato’ Er Kok Leong will also grace the event, sharing over 40 years of their experience in the palm oil industry.
