KUALA LUMPUR, March 31 (Bernama) — Corporate leaders and executives in Malaysia will get an opportunity to learn the secrets of productivity and performance enhancement from the rainforests.
A “Rainforest Strategy” programme, which would be held from June 13-17, 2010 at the Royal Mulu Resort Sarawak, would see the gathering of international corporate leaders from Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Australia and Africa.
“It’s a leadership programme where what we learn from nature can be used by the companies,” project team leader, J.S. Bhar, told Bernama after the soft launch of the programme here Wednesday.
He said every year, seniors executives from US and Europe attended the programme at the Baroo Colorado rainforests in Panama to discuss issues to transform the industries.
The programme, which is organised by Cosmoscape Sdn Bhd, hoped to attract between 80 and 200 participants with 70 per cent overseas participation, he said.
Bhar said the “Rainforest Strategy” revealed remarkable facts about the rainforests and effective leadership skills.
“It offers practical, workable suggestions, policies and processes which can be applied to virtually any business,” he said.
The programme is designed to help corporate leaders and executives find answers to some of their crucial business challenges today, he said.
He said Michael Pink, a renowned management ‘guru’ and author of the book, ‘Rainforest Strategy’, would speak at the gathering.
“Pink has been a contributing writer for numerous magazines including Success and Business Reform,” he said.
Moving forward, he said, Cosmoscape, a principal partner of the Rainforest Strategy, also aims to set up a Green and Environmental Institute in the country as a centre for environmental education.
The event is supported by Tourism Malaysia, Sarawak Convention Bureau, Institute of Marketing Malaysia, Malaysian Palm Oil Council and Bell Group of Companies.
