CPO Futures Easier on Bearish Export Data

CRUDE palm oil futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended the day easier following bearish export data.

SGS estimated that Malaysian palm oil exports fell 9.5 per cent to

734,897 tonnes in March compared with 811,813 tonnes shipped in

February. Intertek Testing Services reported a 12.8 per cent drop in

March exports to 719,302 tonnes from 825,180 tonnes exported a month

earlier.

April 2011, May 2011 and June 2011 fell RM26 each to

RM3,473 a tonne, RM3,447 a tonne and RM3,420 a tonne, respectively while

July 2011 declined RM25 to RM3,403 a tonne. – Bernama
