CPO futures rise on positive export data

CRUDE palm oil futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher yesterday amid the positive export data released by two cargo surveyors, dealers said.

August 2011 and September 2011 gained RM31 each to RM3,141 a tonne and RM3,128 respectively. October 2011 went up RM25 to RM3,121 and November 2011 chalked up RM27 to RM3,120.

Turnover fell to 17,380 lots from 22,365 lots on Friday while open interest rose to 132,395 contracts from 131,253 contracts previously.

On the physical market, August South was up RM10 to RM3,150 tonne.
