Love MY Palm Oil Campaign 2019 & Festival with Mydin Holdings

MYDIN is a home-grown wholesale and retail chain operated since 1957. MYDIN continues to be the HALAL key driver for Malaysia Retail Industry providing wide selection of products while simultaneously orientates the wholesale pricing policy whole year round. MYDIN operates 74 outlets nationwide, comprises of 7 business formats. This number of outlets encompasses, 26 Hypermarkets, 17 Emporiums, 3 Bazaars, 8 Supermarkets, 12 MyMart, 5 Franchise outlets (Mydin Mart) and 3 SAM’S Groceria Supermarkets.

To promote Love MY Palm Oil (LMPO) directly to the consumer through major retail outlets, MPOC joined hands with Mydin to promote this campaign through their major outlets all over Malaysia.

LMPO Promotion Through Mydin Outlets

LMPO Campaign at MYDIN was kicked off from September 1, 2019 and it will be continued for a period of 6 months. Under this campaign, MPOC has displayed LMPO promotional material at 8 MYDIN Malls in 8 different states of Malaysia. Promotional material has been displayed on travellators, hoardings, backlit banners, hanging banners and lift doors. Besides running an OOH campaign at MYDIN, MPOC is also running LMPO digital content through MYDIN FM and MYDIN LEDs throughout the country. Customized videos and audio content is being played on more than 30 times in a day at different time slots.

Love MY Palm Oil Festival @ Mydin Mall, Subang Jaya

September 5 – 8, 2019

To further capitalize the opportunity for a wider coverage, MPOC organized a Love MY Palm Oil Festival at MYDIN Mall, Subang Jaya which was inaugurated by YB Teresa Kok, Minister of Primary Industries, Malaysia. This 4-day festival featured fun activities for families and kids and was conducted at Concourse 2 at MYDIN Mall, Subang Jaya.

To maximise the penetration of LMPO participating brands, MPOC invited Malaysian producers to join MPOC on this Carnival as exhibitor/promoter. The event provided an excellent platform for the producers to showcase their product to MYDIN visitors during our festival. MPOC received overwhelming response from the industry members and due to space limitation, following 6 companies were given an opportunity to join MPOC for this event:

Launching of Love MY Palm Oil Campaign Collaboration with MYDIN (5 September 2019)

The launching was officiated by YB Minister, beginning with a tour of the MYDIN USJ Hypermarket accompanied by MYDIN’s Managing Director, Datuk Wira (Dr.) Hj. Ameer Ali Mydin, Director of MYDIN, Datin Wira Dr. Siti Hawa Mohd, and CEO of MPOC, Datuk Dr. Kalyana Sundram.

The event continued with a speech by YB Minister and showcase of video montage showing the extent of collaboration between MYDIN and MPOC as well as “Standing Together Palm-to-Palm” Video. One of the highlights of the opening ceremony was the announcement by Datuk Wira Ameer Mydin that he will remove all products with “No Palm Oil Label” from MYDIN stores all over the country. This move was lauded by YB Minister and covered extensively by media locally and internationally. The launching ended with an exchange of gifts between YB Minister and Datuk Wira (Dr.) Hj. Ameer Ali Mydin.

Love MY Palm Oil Carnival (5 – 8 September 2019)

The love MY Palm Oil Carnival ran for 4 days and attracted hundreds of customers on daily basis. Activities that were included in the carnival were palm product exhibition and sales, cooking demonstrations, virtual reality tour of oil palm farmland, crafts workshop, and wheel of palm.

The exhibitors offered customers with attractive offers including discounts and food tasting which encouraged them to buy palm oil products from the festival. MPOC had also organized for games and goodies which were only available if customers had a valid receipt of purchase. Wheel of palm, free sampling of ice cream and cooking demonstrations by Chef Florence were major attractions of the festival.
