Malaysia Aug 1-10 palm exports up 12.6pc

Exports of Malaysian palm oil products for August 1-10 fell 12.6 per cent to 366,352 tonnes from 419,100 tonnes shipped between July 1 and 10, cargo surveyor Intertek Testing Services said today.

Another cargo surveyor Societe Generale de Surveillance said exports of Malaysian palm oil products for August 1-10 rose 3.5 per cent to 400,871 tonnes from 387,379 tonnes.

Meanwhile, industry regulator Malaysian Palm Oil Board said the country’s crude palm oil stocks in July fell 5.67 per cent to 1,328,440 tonnes from a revised 1,408,317 tonnes in June,

The drop in stocks beat market expectations for a 3.7 per cent decline to 1.35 million tonnes forecast in a Reuters poll last week. — Reuters
