Market Forum : 2023 Market Direction Amidst Unpredictable Environments

MARKET FORUM is a seminar series organized by MPOC to share key market updates received through our network of regional offices and in-house market intelligence. The Market Forum is targeted to Malaysian palm oil stakeholders in various parts of Malaysia. The Market Forum serious attract prominent speakers from the global oils & fats industry, financial institutions, government agencies as well as relevant authorities.

The final edition of Market Forum for year 2022 was held on the 15 December 2022 in Eastern & Oriental Hotel, Penang. Its theme was ‘2023 Market Direction Amidst Unpredictable Environment’. The speakers for this Market Forum are experts in their respective fields that share their insights and engaged with the participants.

A total of six papers were presented. Three papers on the economic outlook, financial instruments and freight costs were shared by the Bank Negara Malaysia, First East Export Bank and LGC Resources.

Two papers garnered most engagements from the crowd. These topics revolved on the downstream export and upstream performance by MPOC and MPOB, respectively.

As for market-specific topics, MPOC team also presented on the South Asia and Sub Saharan Africa.
