Palm Futures End Lower

CRUDE palm oil futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower yesterday tracking the downtrend in the Chicago Board of Trade soyaoil prices despite strong export data, dealers said.

November 2011 and December 2011 fell RM29 each to close at RM2,942 and RM2,944 a tonne, respectively. January 2012 slipped RM33 to RM2,938 and February 2012 lost RM36 to RM2,937.

Turnover fell to 23,374 lots from 40,175 lots last Friday while open interest rose to 130,879 contracts from 129,162 contracts last week.

On the physical market, November South fell RM10 to RM2,980 a tonne.
