Palm Futures Higher on Tight Supply

KUALA LUMPUR: Crude palm oil futures ended higher yesterday on the back of tightening palm oil supplies and tracking gains by soya oil on the Chicago Board of Trade.

March 2014 eased RM4 to RM2,821 a tonne, April 2014 rose RM7 to RM2,812 a tonne, May 2014 gained RM6 to RM2,806 a tonne,

June 2014 increased RM10 to RM2,792 a tonne, July 2014 gained RM12 to RM2,768 a tonne and August 2014 was RM12 higher at RM2,746 a tonne.

Turnover decreased to 32,108 lots from 45,148 lots on Friday and open interest fell to 211,171 contracts from 218,804 contracts previously.

On the physical market, March South gained RM30 to RM2,860 a tonne.  Bernama
