Reach & Remind, Friends of the Industry Seminar 2017 and Dialogue is an annual event organised by the Malaysian Palm Oil Council, MPOC. The objective is to highlight issues and opportunities facing  the Malaysian palm oil industry by way of a seminar – cum – dialogue as well as exhibition. The keynote address will be presented by YB Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong, Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, Malaysia to help set out the industry’s direction for the year 2017. Three papers by distinguished speakers will be presented covering a wide spectrum of issues and challenges faced by the Malaysian palm oil industry. An open dialogue between the YB Minister and the Industry Players will also be facilitated  to help set the tone and strategies in 2017.  

2017 marks the centennial celebration of Malaysian Palm Oil Industry. This follows the first commercial planting of oil palm by Frenchman Henri Fauconnier at Tennamaram Estate in Batang Berjuntai, Selangor. A soft launch will be held, to commemorate this triumphant journey of oil palm and its role in eradicating poverty, elevating the livelihood of many Malaysians and contribution to the Malaysian economy. Palm oil as a key performer in Malaysia’s Economic Transformation is also highlighted.  

An exhibition will also be held to showcase the initiatives undertaken by MPOC and related agencies including latest publications relevant to the palm oil industry. All palm oil industry stakeholders are invited to attend the event and be involved in the interactive dialogue with YB Minister.
