Marketing & Market Development Division of Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) is pleased to announce its fourth event in the MPOC Webinar Series 2021.  This webinar series aims to provide latest market updates to the oils and fats industry players in Malaysia and around the world on market issues, opportunities, and potential in major markets around the world.  With the theme of “Malaysian Palm Oil in the Middle Eastern Markets – Trends & Potential”, this webinar will cover the current trends of palm oil consumption among consumers and the HORECA sector of the Middle East market with special focus on Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Mr. Faisal Iqbal
Director, Marketing & Market Development, MPOC 

Faisal has done his Master’s in Business Administration and has been associated with Malaysian Palm Oil Council since 1999. He is the Director of Marketing & Market Development Division at MPOC and is responsible for developing, planning, and managing key strategic business development initiatives at the corporate and government levels. His role includes developing global marketing and market development strategies for identifying areas of potential growth for the expansion of Malaysian palm oil exports. Faisal is additionally in charge of the operations of the MPOC Pakistan office, which covers Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Ms. Ebru Akdag
General Coordinator of MUMSAD (Turkish Cullinary Products and Margarine Industrialists Association)

 

Ebru Akdağ completed her B.S. degree in METU Food Engineering Department and her M.S. degree in Engineering Management at METU Industrial Engineering Department. She is currently studying PhD in communications at Bahcesehir University.

Akdağ has an 15 years of experience in NGOs, especially in the field of food and has been dealing with issues such as corporate communication, technicald evelopments, regulation, policy making, international representation and strategy building. She was the first non-public food industry representative elected for the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) of the US Embassy. She has taken part in the communication and technical commissions of industry associations in the EU and gave more than 40 speeches in different parts of the world.

She was elected to be the Chairwoman of the 10th Development Plan Food Products and Safety Specialization Commission of the Ministry of Development of Turkish Republic.

Ebru Akdağ is the General Coordinator of MUMSAD (Turkish Cullinary Products and Margarine Industrialists Association). In addition she is also a book translator & editor working especially in the field of food and nutrition, aiming to enhance qualified Turkish resources in the field.

Mr. Ahmed Alami
Managing Director, Alami Group

 Ahmed Alami is the Managing Director of Alami Group, one of the major manufacturers and traders in the Palm Oil industry for over 30 years. He who was graduated with a Degree (with honours) in Economics and Finance, is one of the driving forces to transform Alami Group to become one of the respected organizations in the palm oil industry. Currently, they are a major player in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.  He also presented in a few international webinars with the most recent was with webinars organized by Refinitiv and MPOC: Palm Oil: Price Trends 2021, Market Expectation and Sentiments.

Mr. Mohamad Raid AlMajzoub

Mohamad Raid AlMajzoub is the General Manager of MTE Global Trading L.L.C. located in Dubai, UAE, he has more than 17 years of experience in trading food commodities globally, he holds an MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan University, United Kingdom.

Historically, He is the third generation of a family business in the field of food commodities supply in the Middle East, in addition to holding various management positions in multinationals companies in Malaysia and the Middle East, the last of which was the Business Development Manager at Soon Soon Oil  Mills Sdn Bhd (Malaysia).

Together, the family heritage and working in successful companies enabled Mohamad Raid to build a good knowledge in the field of trading and manufacturing vegetable oils and specialty fats globally, especially palm oil and its derivatives in the Middle East and North Africa region.
